now we're going to eat pizza, watch a movie or something and maybe play a game of risk. no alcohol or fireworks for us tonight. we're both feeling a bit under the weather

happy new year!

On Christmas morning I listened to some jazz while Josh played on his Nintendo and I made egg nog french toast. We had a good Christmas though Josh is still waiting on one of his gifts because I did not have the time between him working and myself working and having one car, to go get it before Christmas.

This was our first Christmas absolutely alone. Our first Christmas in our apartment! It was fun spending the cold cold day with him.
He's at the office now catching up on work and he just texted me to say that it is snowing on him! Sadly, it's not snowing here just yet but if it's only 15 minutes away maybe it'll be here soon!

Sorry for the absence!
We left for Texas on Friday morning and returned this evening! I promised Josh I wouldn't say anything online about it on the off chance that the mutual Texas friends we have in common actually read this thing, or my Facebook statuses!
Any way! We dropped Lulu off at the puppy hotel early Friday morning and set out to attack the highway and get to Paris, TX roughly around 4:30Pm! Totally did it! Even with stopping in RUSTON, LOUISIANA(home of NEUTRAL MILK HOTEL) for Chinese at our fave Louisiana Chinese buffet! So yummy! They also have perfectly shaped ice cubes which WOWS me like no other!

Any way! We met up with his mom and dad at this cute little diner called McKee's where our pregnant waitress was utterly adorable and had the most dainty little lace top on. I ordered the chicken strip basket and it comes with a huge bowl of white pepper gravy and some fries. We shot the breeze, caught up with each other and then they tell us to come over to their house for just a bit! We were very scatterbrained as to why they wanted us to do this, but we did it any way.
We get there and we all sit down and just talk and enjoy the warmth and company. THEN they tell us to go over by the Christmas tree and open the large box that is sitting next to it. So, we do and look at what they got us!

a 32" lcd hd tv! If you haven't been pals with me for very long, you wouldn't know that our little 19" lcd hd tv got stolen a few months back right out of our home! So we had been using an old tv that one of my now ex-co-workers was letting us borrow. This was SUCH a surprise and we are so so thankful for it! Thank you thank you! The picture is so crisp and amazing. Ahhhhh! I still can't believe we have one!

Last night I went to bingo with Josh's grandma, cousin and aunt. We had a lot of fun though the 4 of us didn't win a darn thing! Josh's aunt dropped his grandma and I off at his grandma's house and then Josh and I went to Applebee's to meet up with some of his old friends. It was a blast. His friends really appreciate friendship and FOOD! Which is AWESOME because one of them has got me ADDICTED to APPLEBEE'S WONTON TACOS ahhh so good!

For our lunch today we stopped at a Whataburger in Marshall, TX as a treat to ourselves!
DSCF0707

We stopped at the strip mall in Monroe, LA and went to Target for a bit!
While we were in Paris, TX we went to PetCo and got Lulu & Olive Oyl some Christmas pressies and decided that our next animal will be a medium sized rat!
Now it's back to work tomorrow!
Hope everyone had a good good weekend!

weekend to do list / what we did today / blah blah blah

About half way through my shift this afternoon I decided to text Josh to see if he wanted to take Lulu for a walk when I got home. So, when I got home that's just what we did!
She's kind of new to the walking thing since we just moved into our own place a few months ago and she was used to a big back yard with plenty of roamage room, but that's just not possible with the apartment.

take yr doggie out in the morning and look what you get!
It's already stopped and nothing stuck but it was still pretty for a little bit! I'm used to the entire state being a big snow ball being from Minnesota so it was nice while it lasted! Maybe we'll get more throughout the day. I work all day, though :( One of the managers that I work with is going on a trip to Missouri so I hope this snow fall didn't hinder their drive at all because some other states that don't normally get snow, are getting little snowies.

I straightened my hair last night and now it just looks dirty. Baby powder, ahoy! It's too cold to wash my hairs right now because I KNOW my hairs aren't dirty!
Thinking of turning on some hot water and bringing some hot chocolate to work today.
Stay warm!

Hot Cup of J....Hot Chocolate!

Aw man! I had to dig and dig in my cupboard but I KNEW that I bought a box of Hot Chocolate when it first started getting cold. Then it went up into the 80s so I said forget it and put it in the back of the cupboard until..TONIGHT!
Josh is still at the office and I feel really weird/nervous going to bed without him home so I've been keeping myself busy with crocheting projects and The Simpsons on DVD. I have SO many half projects done(1 legwarmer, 1 fingerless mitten, etc etc)that I need to finish but just haven't had the motivation here recently. Hopefully soon! *Crosses fingers*

I looked on our TOKI DOKI calender this evening, just glancing at it, and saw this little knitting lamb on it! I got so excited about it that I felt sort of silly afterwards

SO cute!

This is our schedule so far for the near future

Speaking of the Honeybun, he's at the office late this evening so he texted me to say that I should just do "whatever" for dinner, but since it's not Mac N Cheese Friday, I opted for some Ramen to warm me up

I completely brain farted this weekend and forgot that a co-worker asked me to make her some pom poms for a sweater she was crocheting, after seeing the pom pom ornaments on my Christmas Tree scarf last week. So I hurried and got 2 done last night before I went to sleep and finished the other one while at work today.

Chocolate pop tarts for brekky are the only way for a Champions Breakfast to be consumed!

And last but not least, here is our GALLANT GENTLEMAN GINGERBREAD, still growing. Day 2!

Thank You Inclimate Weather

DSCF0343
It's been pretty cold here lately. I've only made a few pots of coffee because I'm normally too busy curled up under a blanket on the couch.
Tuesday night was pretty insane. I was home alone since Josh had some work things and then went up to the office to finish said work things. Josh called me earlier in the evening to tell me that there was a tornado warning/watch for our area. Alright, that's fine, I'll keep up with it via weather.com.
Well, fast forward a few hours. I start hearing the siren, after some pretty harsh rain, thunder etc. So, I grab some blankets, pillows, the fur babies and we jump in the tub until we hear the siren stop. Once that happens, we hop out, I keep everything in the tub just in case and we go about what we were doing.
Fast forward to about 2Am and I am FINALLY dozing off to sleep with the rain still going like no other and Josh still at the office. 2:05Am and I hear the siren again. Olive Oyl was already in the bathroom still so I grabbed Lulu by the collar and shoved her in the bathroom because the windows were rattling and I was scared. I left the TV on, the Christmas lights on, everything. We jumped in the tub again and stayed there. Josh called about 10 minutes later to say that he was about a minute down the road and I needed to be READY TO GO. The tornado was headed OUR WAY.
I jump out of the tub, kiss my Lulu on the head, put her in the kennel, make sure that Olive Oyl has food and water, shoved my rain boots on ,grabbed my back pack and then heard Josh honking outside. I opened the door and I could barely see the car from all of the rain. I sloshed to the car and got in, soaking wet from a seriously 2 second jump to the car. We're going about 10mph and it seems like we're going so fast because of the wind and rain. I'm crying and shaking because I absolutely abhor weather like this and I over scrutinize situations like such. Josh keeps telling me that once we get over the bridge that's over the creek, we'll be fine. We're on our way to the police department because it's a solid solid building and we'll be safe there, he knows people that are on duty and we can watch the weather to see what we're in for.
We get there finally and I'm in my zebra print rain boots, purple pajama pants, Josh's Weezer shirt, no bra and my hoodie. I am absolutely drenched and in complete fear that my nipples will show through my shirt and I'll forever be remembered as That Girl during That Storm.

So, long story short:
I ran through a tornado that was going over our house, we drove through said tornado going to the police department, didn't get home until 4Am and both had to go to work at 8Am. What a day.
and I don't think I've made up any of those hours of sleep that I lost.
My eyes are tired so I think I'm going to turn on The Office and curl up on the couch and hopefully make it to the bed before I have to be awake for work.

OH look at what I bought this evening:
