it's already 7Pm and i don't like gossip girl so i need to change the channel

how'd it get so late so quickly? this morning i woke up to a phone call "gooooood morning!" and went and played with some of the rescue's puppies, picked up poop, played in a pool with them and helped(kind of?) de-worm them

what i've been up to?:




we ate lunch at Zip's last week and then went and put a down payment on a dulcimer for me! i put my next payment tomorrow,i'm hoping by the end of september i'll have it paid off. I also need to start thinking about a house warming gift for a co-worker who is finally moving into her own home,a few miles from me!








Last Tuesday we(S.C.A.R) had to go to D'Lo to discuss some things with their town Marshall. it went fine.


Josh had me take him to the after hours clinic on Tuesday too, before we went to the StormReady meeting where the Mayor was as well. He was on his phone the entire time. He does not impress me one absolute bit. (for other reasons than that, but that was the icing on the cake sort of)



i walked to watercolors last Monday. it was so brisk out and it was such a great walk!





we're having "pork" chops with a vegetable medley rice,"pork"n beans and green beans for dinner tonight. josh is at the office late, so i' am marinating the "pork" chops. i really hope that simpson county appreciates the paper because this isn't the latest he's stayed at the office(though 2am does ring some bells....)
I'm semi-bummed(okay, REALLY bummed) that we only have 1 car because there's a Planned Parenthood (paid)public policy internship in Hattiesburg, but that's too far to drive(nearly an hour now) and too much gas money to go there for 12-15 hours a week and that makes me feel bad because I want to do it so bad but if it were in Jackson, it'd be a LOT easier! :(

it's too hot to function properly so just know that josh's parents came into town this week, we showed them around,ate at some local joints and had a slamming good time. we went to d'lo waterpark, where josh & i went pinecone pickin' back in december.

a lot of neat things happened this year. we finally moved out on our own,i got a job, josh continued loving his job,we ate a lot of pizza, got a kitten, ordered junk online, went to texas a few times, listened to some new musics. that kind of stuff.
now we're going to eat pizza, watch a movie or something and maybe play a game of risk. no alcohol or fireworks for us tonight. we're both feeling a bit under the weather

On Christmas morning I listened to some jazz while Josh played on his Nintendo and I made egg nog french toast. We had a good Christmas though Josh is still waiting on one of his gifts because I did not have the time between him working and myself working and having one car, to go get it before Christmas.



This was our first Christmas absolutely alone. Our first Christmas in our apartment! It was fun spending the cold cold day with him.
He's at the office now catching up on work and he just texted me to say that it is snowing on him! Sadly, it's not snowing here just yet but if it's only 15 minutes away maybe it'll be here soon!

Sorry for the absence!
We left for Texas on Friday morning and returned this evening! I promised Josh I wouldn't say anything online about it on the off chance that the mutual Texas friends we have in common actually read this thing, or my Facebook statuses!
Any way! We dropped Lulu off at the puppy hotel early Friday morning and set out to attack the highway and get to Paris, TX roughly around 4:30Pm! Totally did it! Even with stopping in RUSTON, LOUISIANA(home of NEUTRAL MILK HOTEL) for Chinese at our fave Louisiana Chinese buffet! So yummy! They also have perfectly shaped ice cubes which WOWS me like no other!




Any way! We met up with his mom and dad at this cute little diner called McKee's where our pregnant waitress was utterly adorable and had the most dainty little lace top on. I ordered the chicken strip basket and it comes with a huge bowl of white pepper gravy and some fries. We shot the breeze, caught up with each other and then they tell us to come over to their house for just a bit! We were very scatterbrained as to why they wanted us to do this, but we did it any way.
We get there and we all sit down and just talk and enjoy the warmth and company. THEN they tell us to go over by the Christmas tree and open the large box that is sitting next to it. So, we do and look at what they got us!

a 32" lcd hd tv! If you haven't been pals with me for very long, you wouldn't know that our little 19" lcd hd tv got stolen a few months back right out of our home! So we had been using an old tv that one of my now ex-co-workers was letting us borrow. This was SUCH a surprise and we are so so thankful for it! Thank you thank you! The picture is so crisp and amazing. Ahhhhh! I still can't believe we have one!

Last night I went to bingo with Josh's grandma, cousin and aunt. We had a lot of fun though the 4 of us didn't win a darn thing! Josh's aunt dropped his grandma and I off at his grandma's house and then Josh and I went to Applebee's to meet up with some of his old friends. It was a blast. His friends really appreciate friendship and FOOD! Which is AWESOME because one of them has got me ADDICTED to APPLEBEE'S WONTON TACOS ahhh so good!

For our lunch today we stopped at a Whataburger in Marshall, TX as a treat to ourselves!


We stopped at the strip mall in Monroe, LA and went to Target for a bit!
While we were in Paris, TX we went to PetCo and got Lulu & Olive Oyl some Christmas pressies and decided that our next animal will be a medium sized rat!
Now it's back to work tomorrow!

Phew! Half of the week is already gone. Work got really weird today. Boss man is implementing a new way to bag + better our service with the customers and it's just an awkward awful situation right now. I hope we all get used to it QUICK!
Josh picked me up from work today and had been telling me all week that he had a surprise for me when I got off of work on Wednesday. We drive to D'Lo and lo and behold we end up at the nursery! For one of my "big Christmas gifts" he let me choose whichever hanging plant that I wanted! I chose a cute little fern and it's now sitting on our kitchen counter awaiting a hanger to hang from in our kitchen! I don't have a photo of it but I will once we get everything squared away!
We also nixed the idea of watching more Daria and played Yahtzee! last night! Josh's dad got me the game last Christmas and we played a few times when we first moved in when we didn't have a TV or anything but we've sort of let games get away from us recently.

Oh and another big thing!
This marks the 2nd thing I was able to mark off of my "23 before 24" list!


It was waiting for me when we got home from the nursery! It's so great! I'm so incredibly happy with it! It's THE thing I've always wanted in my future home!

Today we woke up and since neither of us had ANYTHING(gasp!) to do, we got ready and went to the D'LO WATER PARK. You've been there too if you've watched "O' Brother Where Are Thou"!

PS: Please please please keep yr fingers crossed! I found THE PERFECT standing gumball machine at the Neverending Garage Sale but they were closed today. It's sitting outside just waiting to come home with me I JUST KNOW IT! Keep yr fingers & toes crossed that they'll be open one day this week and will sell it to us! It's the perfect thing to put next to the door and what I've wanted for YEARS!!

EDIT ON SUNDAY: It's mine! On the way home from work today the lady was there and I peeped my head in and asked her how much! We're picking it up after I get off of work on Wednesday!!

I've slowly been gathering items to send to Diandra of OhSweetie and I'm getting increasingly excited with each item that I pop in the box!
Beyond that, I haven't really been up to much besides trying to stay warm. Josh's boss made him take 2 vacation days since he has 5 left and they'll just be gone at the end of the year and he's taking 1 next week, so he stayed home today and cleaned up(thanks Josh!)and did some dishes(thanks for that too Josh!) while I went to work.
I went and did a tiny tiny bit of shopping today. I got these 2 books(for 50cents a pop!)


and got 2 new pairs of socks
(the bottom 2, not the christmas themed ones)


and we ate dinner together before he went off to a meeting for work, where he is at now.


Lulu is laying on the couch kind of on her pillow kind of not, but her head keeps slipping off the pillow and she'll jolt awake real quick and lay back on it. It's kind of really funny. It's like that kid in class who rests on their hand pretending to REALLY read the chapter but they're just falling asleep...
Okay, I felt bad for her so I fixed it. She smells like popcorn today and now she's giving me those "Awwwww Mom why'd you do that! I'm a sleepy puppy and didn't wanna be bothered!" look. :(

Deadline?

I just haven't felt like reading. Reading! Not feeling like it! I don't know what's going on in my brain but oh well.
Josh's boss treated us to a Southern Miss football game last night

We had fun. We left a little after half time because I was freezing and we wanted to beat after game traffic. Southern Miss' band is going to be in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade on Thursday. They were a really neat band!

Any way, today is one of my day's off, next one being Friday. I work at 6Am on Thursday! Good golly!I like the 6am shift because it goes by quickly but I just hate waking up at 5;15Am! Blech! I don't know what Josh and I are doing for Thanksgiving, yet. Maybe we'll just have some ham steaks, sweet potatoes and green bean casserole? Who knows!

Birthday Post

We decided on hamburgers instead of fried chicken. Josh was super excited about his cake and that made me more excited!!
I left him an extra special note on the inside of the cupboard.
Tonight was really nice. We ate dinner, ate cake and ice cream(Blue Bell's "butter crunch" SUPER yum!),watched a movie and then had a super gnarly cuddle session w/ Lulu! She's a very lovable puppy and we love her very much. Olive Oyl(our kitten) isn't too keen on cuddling when Lulu is in the bed too, so she pranced around the spare bedroom instead!

My Favorite Boy

I'm writing this now because I am sleepy and will probably oversleep in the morning and won't have time to write it before work!

I would like to wish my favorite boy in the whole entire world, a very happy birthday! I hope that he has a good day roaming the town,getting the news,and all that goodie goodie stuff and that the sun is shiny and he has a yummylicious leftover pulled bbq sandwich for lunch!
I've looked up a yummy fried chicken recipe, fries will be put in the oven and I will pick his birthday cake up at 6. Presents were already given since I am impatient and get too excited about it.
