avoiding

I've not been doing a lot.

I have a lump in my breast(my mammogram is finally tomorrow), I quit at Wal-Mart and got my job back at Vowell's, I finally have a craft night tomorrow evening, had a crafternoon last week, and have met a lot of great people here recently. I went to the Soil and Conservation office last week with Josh, to talk to the USDA guy about his resources with community gardening and got a lot of leads, so I hope to look into those very soon.













I planted lettuce and potatoes so far for the fall. I planted 3 lettuce in the soil in front of my house, 1 lettuce in a large pot on my patio and 1 potato in the soil in front of my house. The lettuce in the soil aren't doing so well and it's because the soil has never been taken care of so it's lacking a lot of nutrients, the potato seems to be doing okay, it has some flowering. The lettuce in the pot is growing rapidly and I am very excited about it.
We haven't moved ahead on the beekeeping front, yet. A lot of financial stuff has come up here recently and we're strapped, but we're hoping to look into it soon.

This also means I can mark 2 things off of my list - craft night & yearly mammogram.

first cucumber + misc

First off, yesterday I was checking the status of my plants when I returned home from work and found that a cucumber has grown! I almost never check my cucumber plant because I just figured that nothing would be growing, but it had been!


My garden is looking pitiful today. I just watered it but I try to water it once in the morning too but I was sitting on the commode fighting off a stomach bug this morning and instead of going outside and watering them, I went back to sleep until well into the afternoon




Our neighbors have a garden and it's really pretty. Huge leaves, but I can't tell what they've put in it. That I'm increasingly jealous of. If Lulu hadn't ran through their winter garden and maybe have messed things up, I would go over there & see what they have and what they do with them after they harvest.

I work until midnight tonight and I'm 50/50 on it. It's an 8 hour shift altogether. 8 hour shifts are all I've worked this weekend. For lunch on Friday, some co-workers and I piled into a car and went off campus for lunch! It was a lot of fun.
I need to bring my fern back to life. It's completely brown thanks to me forgetting to water it, and I want it's green back.
